Édition 174 is the 174th iteration of Krug Grande Cuvée since the cuvée's creation in 1843, built around the 2018 base harvest. As with every edition, it is an assemblage of more than 130 individual wines drawn from over a dozen vintages, with the oldest reserve dating back roughly fifteen years before the youngest fruit.

The blend leans on Pinot Noir for the body, Chardonnay for tension and Meunier for fruit weight. Each release is numbered ("Édition" on the back label) and accompanied by an "ID" code that the maison's app decodes into the precise parcel and vintage make-up — Krug's long-running gesture toward NV transparency in a category historically built on secrecy.
