Place in the range

Collection 244 follows the 2018-based Collection 243 and 2017-based 242. The cuvée is the maison's NV — built every release from one base harvest plus a perpetual reserve (réserve perpétuelle) that Roederer has run since 2012, now spanning more than ten vintages. Each release is numbered on the back label and dated to the base harvest year.

Style

Collection 244 leans on the 2019 vintage — a warm, dry year in Champagne that produced ripe Pinot Noir from Roederer's Cumières / Mareuil-sur-Aÿ holdings — softened by the perpetual reserve and a higher Chardonnay share than the historical Brut Premier. About 30% of the reserve sees oak. Dosage in the brut range, around 8 g/L, with about three years on the lees before release.
