Brut Vintage is bottled only in declared years and sits between Brut Réserve and the maison's prestige cuvées (Blanc de Blancs and Sir Winston Churchill). The assemblage is typically around 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, drawn from a tight selection of grand and premier cru parcels — the maison's historic core in the Vallée de l'Épernay and the Côte des Blancs.
Long ageing on lees (around eight years) in Pol Roger's deep cellars frames a vintage style that emphasises tension and length rather than weight. The wine is dosed in the lower brut range. It is widely cited as one of the most consistently age-worthy mid-range vintage Champagnes.
