Ruinart, founded in 1729, was the first Champagne house to dedicate a wine to its founding monk. Dom Ruinart was first released in the 1959 vintage and remains a Blanc de Blancs Chardonnay sourced largely from the Côte des Blancs grand crus, with a smaller share from the chalky chardonnay slopes of the Montagne de Reims.

The 2023 release marked a packaging redesign — paper-skinned bottle, no plastic — and Ruinart shifted to releasing the wine after roughly ten years on lees. A rosé version, assembled with Pinot Noir from Sillery and Verzenay, is released in parallel.
