Ruinart "R" de Ruinart Brut

The "R" de Ruinart is the maison's assemblage NV — the structural counterpart to the more famous Blanc de Blancs in Ruinart's line-up. The blend is roughly 50% Chardonnay (Côte des Blancs) and 50% Pinot Noir (Montagne de Reims), with a substantial reserve component from previous years.

The Chardonnay component carries Ruinart's house identity through to the assemblage range; the Pinot Noir gives body and a different palate envelope than the Blanc de Blancs. Aged on lees for around three years before disgorgement and dosed at brut level, R sits between the Blanc de Blancs and the prestige Dom Ruinart.
