Henri Giraud Fût de Chêne Prestige

Fût de Chêne is the flagship of Henri Giraud, a small Aÿ-based house that has built its identity on barrels of oak from the Forêt d'Argonne, the historical wood used for Champagne casks until the early twentieth century. The cuvée is a vintage Pinot Noir / Chardonnay blend, fermented and aged in those small Argonne barrels before tirage.

The result is an unusually oxidative, structured Champagne from a maison whose entire range is built around the dialogue between Aÿ Pinot Noir and Argonne oak. Releases are small and each is identified by a vintage and a numbered series.
