Clos des Goisses is a 5.5-hectare walled vineyard in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ owned by Philipponnat since 1935. The slope faces due south at an unusually steep 30–45° gradient over pure chalk, giving Pinot Noir a depth and ripeness rare in the region. Philipponnat bottled it as a single-vineyard wine in 1935, well before the modern lieu-dit boom.
The blend is roughly 65% Pinot Noir / 35% Chardonnay, declared only in the best vintages. The wine is partially oak-fermented, kept on lees for ten years or more, and dosed low. Several special editions (Juste Rosé, Cuvée 1522 from a specific parcel) sit alongside the main release.
