Piper-Heidsieck Vintage is the maison's declared-millésime line, distinct from the NV Brut and the prestige Rare Champagne. The line covers individual harvests the cellar judges worthy of standalone release.
The cuvée is generally built around Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in close-to-equal shares, drawn from premier and grand cru selection, with no Meunier — distinguishing it stylistically from the broader-sourced NV. Long ageing on the lees (typically four to five years) and a low brut dosage frame a vintage style aimed at expressing a specific harvest character rather than building a consistent multi-year house signature.
