ドン・ペリニヨンはセラーマスターが熟成に耐えると判断した年にのみ「宣言」される。2017年はシャンパーニュにとって難しい年だった──早霜、夏の嵐、複雑な収穫条件。メゾンはこのリリースを「粘り強さ」のワインと位置づけ、アサンブラージュにその精神を反映させている。
このキュヴェは、コート・デ・ブランとモンターニュ・ド・ランスのグラン・クリュ畑のシャルドネとピノ・ノワールをほぼ均等にブレンドして仕立てられる。最初のプレニチュード（P1）は澱とともに少なくとも7年熟成された後にリリースされ、それに続くP2、P3は同じヴィンテージのワインをさらに長く熟成させた姿である。
